A great day for the school that won the 'Missão Continente' programme contest

The Santa Maria Basic School in Beja was the winner of the first year of the Missão Continente School Programme.  

Missão Continente took about 40 pupils from the school to visit the Football City in Oeiras for a fun day full of activities to make them more aware they have to adopt a healthy life style.

There were about 1,000 pupils from 18 schools up and down Portugal who took part in the Missão Continente School programme and the ones who best responded to the various challenges in the event were from the Santa Maria Basic School in Beja. The challenge consisted of presenting a video or recipe book of all the knowledge the children had learnt over the year. The winning school surprised us with two videos where the children role played a TV show of them making a healthy meal.

On the party day, everyone got the chance to discover the home of the national football squad, play with the under-19 team, learn how to make a healthy snack with chef Nuno Queiróz Ribeiro and spend some time with the squad's nutritionist.

MAKENOTES expands abroad 

After having participated in various international fairs, MAKENOTES has boosted its fame on the international market, collecting new contacts and winning new clients. 

As part of its internationalisation strategy, MAKENOTES took part in two important international fairs in the stationery and gift sector in the first half of 2017 Paperworld in Frankfurt and the London Stationery Show. In September, it is going to another international exhibition at Intergift Madrid. 

MAKENOTES also participated at Paperworld in Frankfurt between 20 and 31 January, this time with a three-front stand covering 48 m2, where the brand's products were once again selected to the pavilion's trends exhibition, this time with the ‘Doodle Me!’ Collection and was featured by the WGSN (Worth Global Style Network). 

MAKENOTES takes advantage of these opportunities to launch new products and this time it presented new stationery and leather products and three new collections: Bloom Up, Colorful Friendship and Deep Sea. 

Just as in Frankfurt, MAKENOTES launched new products and four new collections at the London Stationery Show, where it participated between 24 and 25 April: Go Wild, Sweet Pineapple, Be Original in Spring and Be Original in Autumn

Dr Well’s is the first clinic specialised in dental medicine and aesthetic medicine 

Sonae MC has taken another step in the health and wellness area by launching its first clinic specialised in dental and aesthetic medicine, Dr Well’s, leveraging its investment in democratising access to quality, personalised health services in Portugal. 

The first Dr Well’s clinic opened at Lisbon's Colombo shopping centre and another five are scheduled to open this year. Patients will be able to benefit from agreements with multiple insurers and the Well's Health Plan, along with funding solutions offering beneficial payment solutions. 

Sonae completes purchase of Brio and Go Natural 

Sonae, through Sonae MC, has completed the operations to buy 100% of the capital of organic supermarket chain BRIO and 51% of the company that owns Go Natural. The signing of both these agreements is part of Sonae MC's strategy to invest in the health and wellness area, namely in healthy food to respond to the consumers' growing demands for proposals that promote a healthy life style and contribute towards a better quality of life. 

Sonae MC now has a chain of seven organic, healthy supermarkets in Portugal, that are highly specialised and have a wide range of suppliers in the organic sector and has reached its target in terms of units ahead of schedule. Furthermore, it now has a restaurant brand that is focused on healthy food that complements its retail supply offering customers distinctive, high-quality shopping experiences for their daily meals.
